Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have a set of rights regarding your personal data. This page summarises those rights and explains how to exercise them.
Your Rights at a Glance
1. Right of Access (Art. 15 GDPR)
You can ask us to confirm whether we process your personal data, and to provide a copy of that data along with information about how and why we process it.
2. Right to Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold about you.
3. Right to Erasure — “Right to be Forgotten” (Art. 17 GDPR)
You can ask us to delete your personal data when it is no longer necessary, when you withdraw consent, or when processing is unlawful.
4. Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
You can ask us to pause processing your data under specific conditions — for example, while we verify a correction request.
5. Right to Data Portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
You can request your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and transmit it to another controller.
6. Right to Object (Art. 21 GDPR)
You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing. Once you object to direct marketing, we will stop processing your data for that purpose.
7. Right to Withdraw Consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
Where processing is based on consent (e.g. the newsletter), you can withdraw that consent at any time. Unsubscribing takes immediate effect and does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
8. Right to Lodge a Complaint (Art. 77 GDPR)
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully. In Germany, you can contact the data protection authority of your federal state (Landesbeauftragter für Datenschutz).
